Requirements

 

MobiLearn software is designed to run on any Sony Ericsson P800/P900/P910 phone.   The MobiLearn English-French Phrasebook includes several hours’ worth of high-quality audio, and thus requires more storage memory than the average  program—about 15 MB.  For greatest efficiency and highest performance, we recommend that you install this program on a storage card.

The MobiLearn English-French Talking Phrasebook provides just the help you need, just when you need it. In a flash, you can choose a phrase in English, then see and hear its translation into French, or vice-versa. The audio for each language is presented in a model native voice recorded with high fidelity. Simply echo what you hear to express yourself with confidence, even if you haven't spoken the language before.

  • Includes the 400+ parallel English and French expressions most useful to business travelers, tourists, and students.
  • Displays phrases in either language by topic or alphabetically.
  • Quickly finds all the entries in either language that contain the words or characters you're searching for.
  • Instantly shows the written translation of any chosen English phrase in French, or French phrase in English.
  • Speaks the translated phrase out loud in a clear native voice.
  • Saves selected phrases in a personal Bookmarks category.
  • Repeats the audio up to nine times, according to your preference.

  • Allows you to delay audio repetition for up to five seconds, providing space for practice.

How It Works

Suppose you're going shopping in Paris and want to be able to ask whether a merchant takes credit cards.  First, select English-French translation. In three quick taps, you can find the right French expression:

  1. On the Home screen, tap the Out & About icon.

  2. In the Out & About list, tap the Shopping category.

  3. Scroll through the Shopping phrase list and tap "Can I pay with a credit card?"

You'll see the French equivalent, "Je peux payer par carte de crédit ?," in the gold translation window.  To hear it out loud, tap the translation window.  Then when you're ready to make a purchase, just repeat the phrase to express yourself in natural French.  To reverse the process and go from French to English, just select French-English.
