Answers to Frequently Asked Questions
The basic MobiLearn phrasebooks are available in the following bilingual and multilingual versions, containing both text and audio:
English-French and French-English
English-German and German-English
English-Italian and Italian-English
English-Spanish and Spanish-English
English-French-German-Italian-Spanish
The Taber's and Workplace Spanish phrasebooks contain parallel English and Spanish phrases, but only Spanish audio.
Yes, we do have further Phrasebook products planned, and will announce them as soon as they’re available.
The voices heard in the basic MobiLearn Phrasebooks and add-on modules are those of professional native speakers, recorded in high-fidelity audio. The voices heard in the MobiLearn Workplace Spanish Phrasebooks are produced by a highly sophisticated synthesizer that integrates elements of actual human speech.
Our software is designed to run on all Windows Mobile for Pocket PC 5.0 and 6.0 devices.
MobiLearn software is designed to be used intuitively, but each Phrasebook also contains a usage guide you can access from the Home page by tapping File/Intro.

Do a soft reset of your Pocket PC and insert it in a cradle attached to your PC.
If you previously installed a trial version of the Phrasebook, use Remove Programs on your Pocket PC to remove the following files (if they’re currently installed).

Microsoft .NET Compact Framework (this will be reinstalled with the new Phrasebook).
Check Start/Settings/System/Memory to confirm that you have the amount of storage space the MobiLearn Phrasebook requires (in main memory, in flash memory, or on a storage card).
Double-click or open the MobiLearn setup file to install the MobiLearn software, following the prompts. If you’re prompted about overwriting existing files, answer “Yes to all.”
If you're installing add-on modules, install them all before opening the Phrasebook.
When installation is complete, tap the MobiLearn icon on your Pocket PC's home screen to run the program.
Yes, we recommend installation on a storage card to conserve main memory. Just follow these steps:
Do a soft reset of your Pocket PC.
Use Remove Programs on your Pocket PC to remove the following files (if they’re currently installed):
the MobiLearn Phrasebook you wish to install on a storage card
Microsoft SQLCE 2.0 (this will be reinstalled with the new Phrasebook)
Microsoft .NET Compact Framework (this will be reinstalled with the new Phrasebook).
Check Start/Settings/System/Memory to confirm that your storage card has the amount of space the MobiLearn Phrasebook requires.
Double-click or open the MobiLearn setup file to install the software, following the prompts. When you’re prompted to store the program in the default location (main memory), answer “No,” then click the drop-down list to specify the desired destination. If you’re prompted about overwriting existing files, answer “Yes to all.”

When I enter my MobiLearn product registration code I get a message that says “Please enter correct registration code.” Why isn’t the code accepted?
If your PC uses the Windows Vista operating system:
You must update your Microsoft Windows Mobile Device Center software to the latest version, 6.1. You may download V6.1 from http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/devicecenter.mspx. Once it’s installed you may install your MobiLearn software, following the prompts. If the registration code still isn’t accepted, follow the steps below for the XP operating system.
If your PC uses the Windows XP operating system:
When you made your purchase, you entered your Pocket PC Owner Name on your order. Handango (or another distributor) then assigned a registration code keyed to that Owner Name. If there is any discrepancy between what you entered on the order and the name that actually appears on your Pocket PC (Start/Settings/Personal/Owner Information), your assigned registration code will not be accepted when you attempt to install the program. Here’s how to correct that:
If the ID in the Name field of your Pocket PC Owner Information screen is different in any way from Pocket PC Owner Name you gave in your order, change it so that it precisely matches the ID you provided. The use of upper/lower case, punctuation, and spacing must be identical. Check to be sure that there are no blank spaces at the end of your ID.
Tap "ok" in the upper right of the Owner Information screen.
Cancel the setup process on your PC to reset the connection to your Pocket PC.
Restart setup.
When prompted, enter the registration code you received from Handango with your order confirmation.
After you've successfully installed the new version, you can change the name that appears on the Owner Information screen if you wish.
The MobiLearn Phrasebook must be closed and reopened before the add-on module is recognized. When you reopen it you’ll see a “…module detected” message and installation will proceed. When finished, the add-on module will appear as a new subcategory under the appropriate category.
